i feel bad for both dogs but im also kind of curious on how the bull terrier managed to get so many quills lodged into him or her before either the pain set in or he decided to stop attacking because he realized he was just going to get more Quills lodged in his face and body.

anyway im just glad my dog would never do something like that.

In case anyone cares the white dog is a Bull Terrier and yes there is a difference is between Pit Bulls and Bull Terriers. But dog have the innate need hunt things that move. I have seen all three of my dogs go for animals from porcupines to mice. Its part of their biology, they are descended from wolves! And Pit Bulls are not any more likely to to attack other animals than any ol dog. It all has to do with the fact that yes while they are stubborn but then again so are Pekingeses but they are half their size, most of it has to do with the way that they were raised. But this might be more than people care to know.

I've had this happen before to my dogs.

Dog's think porcupines smell neat, the porcupine objects to the sniffing and gives it a whack of it tail. Then, you goto the vet.

The next week. you find out what kind of dog you have.
It will either learn its lesson, or go back for revenge.

Most of my dog's learned well. The other, went back for revenge, twice. Found bits of porcupine scattered across the driveway and lawn.

I had a dog that ran into a porcupine a time or two. He looked
exactly like these dogs. They just get so excited that they can't
stop once they're on the hunt.

I'm afraid that the Pit bull needs a unique kind of proprietor...these pet dogs, regardless of how 'trusting' nevertheless have teeth, are nevertheless animals with no moral concepts and once they DO bite, won't let go. As in all creatures...some tend to be additional suseptable to instinctual behavior and time and time once again, this breed tends to complete just that.
