Pop Surrealist Intervention Art

The ability to create great works of art takes a lot of talent and determination. However, for every stunning original painting in the world there are thousands of cheap copies and generic scenery pieces destined for chain hotel rooms and future garage sales. Take this Norman Rockwell copy, which can likely be purchased at a Cracker Barrel near you.

Artist Robert Brandenburg takes copies of paintings just like this, then “alters” them, often with dark, hilarious results. Here’s his take on the same Rockwell painting:
