And if a car suddenly whips around the corner, heading directly at your baby.. you what? activate the turbo boost?

I officially nominate the person for the Darwin awards.

  2. Diomy Yunsa says:

Personally, I think she really needs to walk. She still looks a little fat…err, I mean chubby around the waist. She has a tiny muffin top thing going on with a shirt that’s already loose.

  3. Bill says:

Er, yeah, “laziness” is getting bad… especially lazy spellers.

  4. Insomniac says:

    Lawl @ Bill.

    [turbo boost] :] lol

    LOL @ turbo boost. :] (Y)

  8. Hillery says:

The worst part is, it looks more uncomfortable than actually walking, because she has to stoop to push the stroller. I can only hope there was some indiscernible but nonetheless good reason she was doing that, other than her being an idiot. Also, I have that exact stroller. Just making conversation.

  9. Someone needs to smack her if she doesn’t have a physical aliment for doing that. Lazy doesn’t even begin to describe her doing what she is.

  10. shibs says:

Im pretty sure that its more painful in the long run to bend your back like that than walking would ever be.

  11. john says:

TOOT TOOT she really needs to get off that thing and start walking, the fat lady should too

  12. Jack says:

    “… in the year 2525

    if man is still alive”

    Lazy and dumb go together.

  13. Pete says:

    Haha… Europeans, I guess…
I can guarantee that’s not America. No one uses those things here. No one.

  14. SoCo says:

Actually I’m fairly sure that is in the U.S. because I recognize the newspaper boxes, I’ve seen them all over Chicago. (also the red one says “free”, so probably the U.S.)

P.S. Americans do ride those. Spend time in downtown Chicago during the summer and you will see all the douche-bags.

  15. Willow says:

She could have just bought it.. I know I wouldn’t want to carry that thing.

  16. Grouse says:

    Worthless cunt.

  17. vic says:

Just from looking at this, the mother is straining her back from her position. Plus, the safety issue is questionable. However, I also don’t know whether she has some sort of problem walking, so it’s hard to pass judgment without all the facts.

  18. Haley says:

Needless to say she should be walking her kid instead of riding that thing, but it’s not cool to degrade her for being a bit overweight.

Yeah, some Americans who can afford to waste money on that sort of shit have them, but I’m pretty sure Americans aren’t the only people who do.

  19. meson says:

to katie,,,you can get help with your stammer…

  20. fstcd says:

    a) She could have a medical problem, some joints ailment …
    b) She wants to take it to some place (probably to dispose of it, sell it, give it away), so she is riding on it instead of lugging it around.
    c) Or she is indeed an idiot.

  21. meson says:

    a]the baby has a medical problem ?? b]what,the baby ?? c]yes….

  22. Bill Vincent says:

Impossible to pass judgment on this without facts. You all look at one pic depicting one split second of one life and assume you have that woman all figured out. I can think of a dozen situations that could produce that picture, none of which contain:

    Lazy bitch
    worthless cunt
    fat American
    Money waster

Or any other stupid, closed-minded, ignorant, bigoted xenophobic comments that most of you probably don’t even understand fully, you’re just parroting something your father yelled at you across the table for a few years, or you read in some asinine blog or on a t-shirt or some shit.

  23. Hmm says:

She is not ‘fat’, so stop letting society’s model of ‘skinny’ vs ‘fat’ drive you. Either way, it is still GOOD for people to walk places, IF you can– there could be MANY reasons for her to be like that, though it’s not safe for the child to be pushed like that.

  24. Hmm says:

Though please note– upon closer inspection of the picture– it seems to have a tag about the right handle… perhaps brand new bringing it home?

  25. meson says:

too bill vincent…we can all see what your father yelled at you across the table for a few year,s..

  26. wentplatinum says:

i mean… she’s crossing at least 5 lanes (could be more) of traffic…. and i’m sure the reasoning for this stupidity is “well i hafta have my scooter thingy for when i take my lunch break or i will actually have to walk to get lunch” and the result… baby gets to live on the edge, guaranteed adrenaline junkie when it gets older

  27. Aaron says:

I think this woman is being unfairly judged. Why should the child be the only one that doesn’t have to walk? Have you ever tried walking? It’s difficult. Hopefully the next craze is a machine that performs the arduous task of breathing for you.

  28. Shran says:

I wonder if anyone here even knows her name…

  29. Joeseph says:

@Shran – It’s Linda, she lives in downtown San Francisco and that is her granddaughter Elizabeth who she is taking to a daycare. Shes on the segway because she doesn’t enjoy carrying groceries home while walking.

  30. Kimi says:

Applause for Bill Vincent. You’ve obviously taken a second or two out of your life now and then to get wise. It’s nice to find a human in the midst of such degraded, de-evolved useless tools who prove they are what they are with every letter typed….or half typed.

  31. Kimi says:

Before you morons jump on this. That would be – with every WORD typed. pffft.

  32. tim says:

I think the point is being missed here. A) owning a segway makes you a pretensious a$$hole, period. I mean, it’s a sidewalk car, wtf?! B) Pushing something on wheels from another device on wheels, both without a decent braking system, is inherently less controlled than say, walking.. which endangers the child.. thus incurring the wrath of the “wont somebody think of the children!?” demographic.. and C) look at how hard she’s concentrating on what appears to be a simple task. See folks, we have the douchebag trifecta in play here.. in fact, if you cant appreciate how this opens her up to ridicule, than you are a douchebag-defender.. which is EVEN WORSE!!!

  33. evil one says:

If she wants to to drive segway AND move stroller at the same, then it is none of your damn business, people – if you don’t like the idea, that is your problem. As for calling “fat”, well, people who spend their time criticizing photos on the internet might weight much more than she, her baby, stroller and segway together.

  34. Sarah says:

Seriously though, she may be dropping her kid off before traveling quite a distance to her work. Would you rather walk 20 blocks or ride one of those? You have no idea of her intentions.

I’m all for walking and being healthy, but don’t judge unless you know the situation.

  35. Bjorn says:

First of all, in response to all the politically correct, overly sensitive people: She is definitely fat.

Second, yes, there are many good reasons why she could be doing that as other posters have listed. People who jump to conclusions are brain-dead.

  36. Pedro says:

Bjorn, I’m not sure “child endangerment” and “many good reasons” ever belong in the same sentence.

  37. Xanderthol says:

Did anyone potentially consider that she might be pregnant again and hence is not walking?

  38. micah says:

the fact of the matter is, shes pushing a fucking BABY around while riding a segway.. if she hits say a pot-hole or a big ass rock and falls forward, that baby is fucked..

  39. laziness is hypoglycemia/low glucose brain-FUEL for hyperstressORS/chemicals absorbed smell/swallow/skin aging on malnutrition, so don’t blame victims unaware/out-of-control, heredity determining potential being uncontrollable,…

  40. seriously? says:

there is absolutely NO REASON to get all bent of shape about this picture.

it’s A FUNNY PICTURE. take a deep breath, have a good laugh, and stop getting your panties in a bunch.

if you can’t take a joke, life isn’t going to be very much fun for you.

  41. fistikuffs says:

To all the morons bleating about “not knowing her situation” and being too quick to judge, it’s time to wise up. Regardless of whether she is fat, injured, lazy or has to travel far with her shopping she is endangering the child and herself. If she is incapacitated to the point where she needs to use the Segway to get around then someone else has to drop the kid off.

Regardless of the circumstances of the photo it’s clear that this lady is dumb.

  42. Anthony says:

This is why so many outsiders to the U.S mess with my countrymen and after seeing this i agree with some of the crap I’ve heard.

    Lol. TURBO BOOST.

fistikuffs I couldn’t agree with you more.

I know a guy who so lazy he won’t empty the trash in the computer recycle bin!

Lol to the baby on the carriage. Yo mama so lazy she’s got a remote control just to operate her remote!

  43. Lauren says:

She might be using the segway in lieu of a wheelchair. A girl that goes to my school uses one due to some sort of muscular degenerative disorder.

  44. will says:

-bitch slap, pulls out RPG and shoots her in the head, then takes out an AK and finishes off her body- fuck you bitch, you deserve it. lazy does not even start to describe this woman.
    thank you very much.

  45. stacey says:

uhhh….. I have hypoglycemia and am skinny as a rail. Thank YEW very much. Relating hypoglycemia to obesity and laziness is ignorant.

  46. Chris Hofstetter says:

Listen here you sons of a bitches!! That Woman you found so convenient to tear down is my mother. I happen to know that she is not a lazy woman. In fact she exercises four times a week. The reason she uses her Segway is she went through cancer for three years and in the end had to have her left leg amputated. When traveling long distances by walking she develops very painful blisters and sores from the rubbing of her prosthetic leg. I have seen these sores draw tears to my mothers eyes they are so painful, and my mother is a very tough woman. Another fact which is inaccurate because you are a pathetic excuse for a journalist, is that is not her daughter. It is actually her great niece. Not that, that makes any difference to the overall story. It just goes to show how the use of the internet as a media of journalism has deteriorated to to the point of being nothing more than a bunch of old ladies sitting around the bingo table spreading the latest gossip. If you consider yourself a “journalist” you should actually try and research the topic you are writing about. Actually talk to the person you intend to insult and tear down and hear their side of the story before going ahead and making an ass of yourself. And to the rest of you who posted negative things about a kind, gentle, and hardworking woman you know nothing about: you should all be ashamed of yourselves!! Let this be a lesson to all of you, do not pass judgement on someone unless you know the whole story. You all were poking fun of an amputee cancer survivor who was taking care of children who weren’t even her own out of the kindness of her heart. All of you should be extremely ashamed of the way you were all so quick to judge. And to the “journalist” who wrote this article I believe you owe my mother an apology. Your take on her stroller pushing techniques hurt her feelings without cause. You had no right to say the things you did about her. Your statements were and are unfounded, grossly exaggerated, and irresponsible. If you would like to take responsibility for your hurtful statements and attempt to make amends please e-mail my mom at emcjk@comcast.net. Her name is Melissa Hofstetter and I’m sure she would really appreciate a heartfelt apology from you. Let the lesson be learned that we should not judge things we see without first placing that situation or event in the proper context. Because without context, something this journalist seems to know nothing about. one cannot build a cohesive and educated opinion.

  47. ANDY says:

She still shouldn’t be pushing a baby like this. It is quite dangerous to cross a road and not have the ability to push the stroller out of harms way. If she did, she would not be able to get control of it quickly.

Sorry for the mean things people say.

    Cheers.
