The temperature in underground areas is usually the same as the annual average. The annual average takes effect at about 20+ feet below the surface. Above that there is still seasonal fluctuation, but the heat/cold travels quite slowly through the ground. Thus the variations may be 1 month, ot 6 out of sync with the seasons.

In most places where it is very hot in the summer, the annual average is quite comfortable.

To find the average temperature for your area, use www.wunderground.com go into the 'history data'. Enter your area and there are charts you can set to weekly, monthly or custom.
