Great photos of the underground homes! Coober Pedy is an unique place.

I have been there and stayed underground. Its quite nice. To Akeley’s question, im guessing the food comes from Adelaide. There are supermarkets there… maybe one. not sure. Been ages since i was there.

Well Coober Peedy is pretty hot too, it is in the middle of the desert, so it is best to be underground.

wowwww…that is awesome…totally cool……..amazing what can be done underneath this bazing surfaces,,,,,,,
i bet cyclones can’t reach them…….and earthquakes…..????/
anyways that is totallly btreathtaking…..i will try my best to set foot in those places.

Given the conditions above ground, it makes good sense to make use of the ( it most cases) tunnels that have been cut into the rock. I feel sure that the problem of ventilation has been sorted out. with forced air ducting.
