My mum is on level 80 :) with 7M points... I don't know what everyone here is talking about, with insane amounts of points, but this is Bookworm Deluxe I think, the one with the library etc.

Just broke 2 billion - level 60. Am curious to see what happens when I cross the 2.14 mark mentioned above. Simple strategy - fill the bottom 3 to 4 rows with "diamond" or "sapphire" jewel tiles. 3 would probably suffice, 5 is overkill and just limits the working space above. 95% of the time burning tiles can be removed immediately - though with some admittedly strange words. If you never scramble the tiles and follow the strategy described above (and have a decent vocabulary) the game becomes rather tedious as it is essentially impossible to lose. Honestly, I'm happy to hear about the 2.14 threshold as I was assuming I was going to have to continue to 10 billion in order to turn the game over.

ya ya you and your mama could have a score of 17^10, but do you a have simple pic to prove it?
One would think with these astronomical scores gathered from days of playing at least one of you would have pressed the Prt Sc button.

Hi, I am just starting and have reached point where my screen seems to be frozen.
It wont scramble and I have no vowels, my score is about 3,500,000 and i want to keep going so hate to lose it all.
Any ideas what I can do?
Have to agree about the hedge of gems along the bottom helping and i go for the words that are even numbered with minimum of 2 letters per column strategy...this really reduces the fire tiles.
I love to make a delicious long word but the rain of fire is sometimes just not worth it!.
Please help anyone...

My score tonight is 96,798,233 and I hope to break 100,000,000 this month, I did not know about the backup feature. I do not think that my version has it. I keep the bottom two rows filled with blue and gold tiles for almost the entire game. It is the only way to prevent the destruction of your library. I do try to make long words. That's the fun really.

This game has a flaw..you can open the Bookworm file and under players save you last game (without fire of course). If and when your library burns you merely reload the saved backup file in the players folder. Its not cheating just backing up--but it is not playing like most players play the game..which is when you burn up you start over
