hey runey, you might be able to spell, but your math skills are lacking! one billion is 1000 million, not 100 million.

  2. trynfindit says:

I just finished a game where my final score was 18,478,230.

  3. Robert says:

I have a score of 422million plus best word value 2.683000
I scored over 2 Billion but game would not register it.

  4. Mario says:

I am currently on level 2074, and I passed the 2,147,483,647 point mark that was mentioned earlier. My score has completely disappeared, as well as the “bookworm”, he’s gone from my screen as well. And every time I level up, the picture in the borders around the tiles changes.

  5. Vickie says:

I’m very proud of my 35 million but I see I have a way to go to be anywhere near the other higher scores.

  7. dustoff262 says:

playing for 1 and a half days. My current score is 1,203,130 and still going. Best word is trundle for 8170, longest word is dreamed and highest rank is Ultra Bookworm. I believe anything above the rank of 30 stays as Ultra Bookworm.

Some of the scores on here are unbelievable!!!

  8. GRACE says:

My sister-in-law in Rochester MN has a high score of over 17 Million…as of Dec 27 2010. I wish there was a credible place to submit these scores, with proof of course. grace

  9. beth says:

Some of the scores on here made me choke.

And I thought I was doing well on mobile with 11,860,610 points…

Best word is impudent – 71820. Still going strong. :)

  10. cbb says:

Scores above are just fantastic, only just started playing the game on my Iphone. Would love to know, do you all shake the tiles or just leave them as they come? I never shake, am I doing it wrong.

  11. YoungCosby says:

I want to know unhacked scores. too many cheaters nowadays.

  12. JLM1308 says:

  14. d says:

i had 3 billion or 3,000,089, 714 to be exact and then the flippin game said it couldnt input anymore! my longest word was: friendliest!

I’m pretty sure the secret to getting very high scores is not to build long words–quite the opposite in fact. I’d been consistently getting low scores by trying to play in this fashion and never getting past the 1.5 million mark but in the game I’d just completed I took a quite different approach and played to clog the game board with bonus tiles that I would go out of my way *not* to use. This often means scoring only with short words even when longer words are available. That way when fire tiles appear they take two or three times as long to burn their way down, giving me much more time to take care of them before they became a problem. I got more than five times my previous high score with that method and I’m sure with a bit of practice I can keep a game going indefinitely this way. Furthermore, playing only short words lessens the burden of fire tiles because only one or two will appear after a given move.

So, to reiterate, never use bonus tiles unless there’s no choice and don’t play for long words, not unless chance brings them your way. Don’t play to win. Play not to lose.

  16. Rose says:

I am on 190 716 000000 and level 120 and still going some here gave wrong numbers because they not match with the levels some are honest. Special the billion people dont say the levels

  17. Rose says:

    Sorry 3 zeros to much i am on 190 716 000

  18. Judy says:

nope…I’m at 5 million three hundred, and still going…I wonder what the alltime high score is?

  19. Guy says:

Classic players are weaklings. Action play is the only test

  20. Dale says:

This game has a can open the Bookworm file and under players save you last game (without fire of course). If and when your library burns you merely reload the saved backup file in the players folder. Its not cheating just backing up–but it is not playing like most players play the game..which is when you burn up you start over

  21. Randi says:

My score tonight is 96,798,233 and I hope to break 100,000,000 this month, I did not know about the backup feature. I do not think that my version has it. I keep the bottom two rows filled with blue and gold tiles for almost the entire game. It is the only way to prevent the destruction of your library. I do try to make long words. That’s the fun really.

  22. Rhonda says:

Hi, I am just starting and have reached point where my screen seems to be frozen.
It wont scramble and I have no vowels, my score is about 3,500,000 and i want to keep going so hate to lose it all.
Any ideas what I can do?
Have to agree about the hedge of gems along the bottom helping and i go for the words that are even numbered with minimum of 2 letters per column strategy…this really reduces the fire tiles.
I love to make a delicious long word but the rain of fire is sometimes just not worth it!.
    Please help anyone…

  23. Shane says:

I have a game still going that is up to 350 million

  24. Greg Moore says:

Just passed 30 million (30,000,000) in Bookworm.

  25. Jo says:

Exactly what kind of Bookworm version so you guys have? I bought mine and it won’t allow me to make a word longer than 7 letters – thanksgiving, OMG!

  26. cnitdone says:

ya ya you and your mama could have a score of 17^10, but do you a have simple pic to prove it?
One would think with these astronomical scores gathered from days of playing at least one of you would have pressed the Prt Sc button.

  27. No Life says:

Just broke 2 billion – level 60. Am curious to see what happens when I cross the 2.14 mark mentioned above. Simple strategy – fill the bottom 3 to 4 rows with “diamond” or “sapphire” jewel tiles. 3 would probably suffice, 5 is overkill and just limits the working space above. 95% of the time burning tiles can be removed immediately – though with some admittedly strange words. If you never scramble the tiles and follow the strategy described above (and have a decent vocabulary) the game becomes rather tedious as it is essentially impossible to lose. Honestly, I’m happy to hear about the 2.14 threshold as I was assuming I was going to have to continue to 10 billion in order to turn the game over.

  28. Bifi says:

My mum is on level 80 :) with 7M points… I don’t know what everyone here is talking about, with insane amounts of points, but this is Bookworm Deluxe I think, the one with the library etc.

  29. Editor says:

Well, we wrote this almost four years ago, so there’s a good chance a lot of people are higher now!

  30. Ken says:

These are all very good scores but after playing for a few years now I’ve found something out. When I got to the score of two billion five hundred million the score started to drop back down to zero! So the highest possible score that you can get is 2,500,000,000. The people that say that they got more than this score are obviously lying. I hope that this clears up things for everybody. Have fun the rest of the way. I can’t wait until I get to zero. When I do finally finish this game I will write back to this forum. By the way I do have screenshots that I took of my game as I’ve been playing so if you don’t believe me email me at and I will gladly send out the pics and prove myself. They include the two billion five hundred million score, highest point word which was worth 105,080 points. I even did a test and found out that the most letters that you can use to make a word is 12. I know this because when I tried to make a 14 letter word instead of the last two letters hilighting it showed the last two tiles with red ‘Xs’ on them instead! The word was ‘invigoratingly’. I’m dying to show these pics to you guys!

  31. Ken says:

By the way my current score is 1,679,625,256 and I’m at level 599.

  32. Douglas says:

My present score is 264,431,750 Level 135 and counting.
I hope to reach a billion before doomsday.
The game often teaches new words. Very educational.

  33. Mike says:

I have read most of these comments and I have a problem with some.. The maximum score is 2.14 billion -after that the innards of the game get confused and you get negative scores. (That’s according to Pop Games, the maker of the game) The bonus caps at 50000, so I dont understand the ones that claim to get higher bonuses. The levels are based on the score you reach, i.e., level 51 is at 11,000,000. If you take an average of 10 minutes to get 100,000 (that’s fast), that’s 600000 an hour, and that’s about 3600 hours to get to the maximum score. If you play 8 hours a day, that 450 days if you play every day. You have to be obsessed to do that. The ones that say they only play short words and have colored tiles at the bottom rung — That doesn’t work , since you have to play longer words to get colored tiles. But this game is fun without making it work. By the way, I’m at 11,130,350. Aklso my game says the longest word recorded is 12 letters.

  34. Linda says:

I am hooked on this game, I cannot go to bed at night without having a game. My biggest score so far is 21,608,034 I have many other smaller scores but am currently on 8,765,456 so I will keep trying to get a better score.
Now I have my grandkids hooked on it.
    Go Bookworm

  35. andrealcsw says:

You can’t really compare playing on a PC with playing on an iPhone or a Nintendo DS. I’m at 30 million + on the iPhone. Rank 66, longest word “requesting”, best word “performed” for 23,100 points.

  36. archie says:

it would be nice if all your claims are backed up by a simple photo shoot of the one you are playing so they are credible. I am playing it now and only managed to score 7 million plus so far and i am at level 43. My longest word was “SQUANDERERS”
