Blue Flash: Homemade Roller Coaster
When John Ivers got sick of waiting hours upon hours in line to ride 30 second roller coasters at amusement parks, he decided to take the matter into his own hands and build his own homemade roller coaster called Blue Flash. Blue Flash isn’t some run-of-the-mill roller coaster either, it’s perfectly safe and even has a 360 degree loop. This roller coaster makes for some awesome backyard fun.

Awesome! But the loop has “neck injury” written all over it. It would be wise for him to invest some time in designing some sort of harness.

How can a weight limit of 200 limit a lot of people? Are there that many people over 200 pounds in the US? Geeze…
This is REALLY coool. It just looks scary to ride cuz I didn’t see a harness. But I would probably ride it.

This is really neat and everything…but watch the rider’s head when he/she goes around that loop. Someone is going to get serious whiplash, and soon.
I have actually ridden the Blue Flash, it’s a fun (but wicked) little ride. And, it’s prefectly safe. People do not die on roller coasters everyday, in fact you are much safer on the ride than you were getting to the park!
Last I heard John was working on another coaster, this one is non-looping.

Omg! I saw that on TV once! Here’s some advice on building one in your backyard. You have to plan it 1st. Ask your mom or dad to help you collect strong medals. Make them help you bulid the seats and the track. Make sure they know how to make it work and move. Then, HAVE FUN! I just built one in my backyard!

u ppl think tht since its a roller coaster it should automatically hold 2000 pnds and have 10 seats. well its not. just be happy that someone actually took the time to take spare metal and engines to make his own backyard roller coaster tht lasts 30 seconds.

That is just so cool i’ve always wanted to have a roller coaster in my backyard ! i never want to wait in line but i’m scared of roller coasters i’m 10 but a backyard roller coaster might not be scary! i think i’m just scared of them because everyone is watching you and all pressure of everyone watching you expecting to not cry,pout or scream and yell to get off! but there just so big and i’m so small mabey that’s it! all the twists and turns and loops look so scary and tall i don;t know why i;m scared but i am! i rode a little one before and all the pressure of you holding on and sweating and your hands hurting after wards feeling like falling off i just don’t like it for some reason! well that’s all i love the roller coaster! so much!!!!!! 10 years old!!!!! BYE!!!!
