Blue Flash Roller Coaster

When John Ivers got sick of waiting hours upon hours in line to ride 30 second roller coasters at amusement parks, he decided to take the matter into his own hands and build his own homemade roller coaster called Blue Flash. Blue Flash isn’t some run-of-the-mill roller coaster either, it’s perfectly safe and even has a 360 degree loop. This roller coaster makes for some awesome backyard fun.

All we have to do now is turn our interest in a project that we yearn to accomplish and get it done like he did his coaster that now allows him to coast through the rest of his life.
Inch by inch it’s a cinch.

  11. This is so AWESOME!

    Live the dream JOHN!

  12. You need to be really careful with loops - neck injuries are a high risk with them.

  16. this is really cool. it’s incredible that he did this by himself.
but for those of you who think it sucks, you suck. let’s see you make a small rolercoaster out of just scrap metal and engine parts.

What a piece of shit, this thing look like its fun for anyone with an I.Q. under 20. Typical redneck bullshit!! Go fuck yourselves!! assholes!

  19. He built all this out of metal he could have made it ten times easier out of wood. Except the loop on a wooden roller coaster is hard to make.

  20. nice.

  21. I seriously hope he has an engineer friend that did/is going to do a detailed analysis of this thing. Fatigue life is going to be a real issue.

  22. Great job mate. Works well.

  23. unfortunately, insurance agents now screen his phone calls.

  24. This guy just became a personal hero

  25. All the lame-o’s who are cutting the guy down need to back away from the keyboard and stay away until THEY have done something at least as cool.

I’ve worked as a tool & die maker … the guy did a major piece of work to get this together & running proper. And ‘props’ for having the brights to put a weight limit on it.

Now. Back away from the keyboard, wash your hands and go outside to play.

What the hell are you talking about? Over 60% of American adults are overweight… It’s a statistic, close enough to being fact. And who kicked America’s “white ass” anyways? You really need to learn how to spell too man…

  44. He’s just pissed off because he’s one of the fat bastards….

  45. I guess this is pretty cool for a guy his age and the fact he did it alone…. maybe he’ll add on more. but anyone whos saying bad things about him ur all gay cz one day this guy might be rich and then who’ll be laughing at who?

  48. BillinDetroit, you nailed it. This is just simply cool, and obviously put together by somebody who’s not only qualified, but motivated to make his own fun in his life. I’d consider it a privilege to ride it.

Dissers?… STFU and go shopping at the mall, pinheads. Or get on a treadmill for a half-hour a day if you’re jealous those of us who still clock in at under one-fifth of a ton.

  49. that guy did that shit and he ws soo geeked the entire time i know man i was there o o

look how stern my face is does that look like a lieing face?

  50. i´ed call it neck breaker

  51. That is awesome!!!

  52. I think this guy is amazing and inspirational.

There are always lame-ass dissers whose sole purpose on the Internet is to trash everything and everyone else on it. Never mind that they spend so much time bitching about others, that apparently they never have time do anything worthwhile themselves. I don’t see YOU guys (the bashers) on YouTube with something this cool.

So just STFU and hope to God you’re as brilliant and fun-loving as this guy when you’re his age (if you even live that long with your crappy attitudes).

And kudos to those here who can appreciate people like him.

    caile~

  53. ok… you just said america doesnt have alot of fat people…

i live in america, and yes it does have ALOT of FAT people..
    quite a large number actually…

i think you must be fat for posting that

  54. yea wait what…

    “america” kicked whos white asses…
that sentence doesnt even make sense

  55. Amazing work!!

    Congrats!!

  56. if you dis this, you’re retarded.
    ol’ lunatic’s awesome. period.

  57. yea, and by the way; way too many americans are frightenly fat. and stupid. and ignorant. stort sett er de noen jævla ufyselige tosker.

  58. Its a testimony to the best qualities of the American people.

    Resourcefulness, ingenuity and steadfast commitment.

Bravo sir! You are my hero!

  59. This is AWESOME!!! :D

  60. I have 100 dollars that the mattress that they made the seat out of will fall out while upside down!

  61. Oh wow, this ain’t your average backyard hillbilly… bloody brilliant stuff. Turning a scrap metal and a lot of time and effort into a rollercoaster in your back garden is the ultimate way to stick two fingers up to Disney, and I know what he means about the wait too. I once had to wait… 3 hours? For a jam-packed ride at Alton Towers… only lasted about 45 seconds and I was NOT impressed. Chris Sawyer eat your heart out! =D

  62. dont get me wrong… this is incredible, and the guy is awesome. but this has lawsuit and whiplash all over it. lol. doesnt mean i wouldnt ride it though!

  63. Flamers? Stfu.

This is really an awesome story.
Anyone who could accomplish something like this deserves respect imo.

  64. I find it hilarious how people are dissing what this man has accomplished.. Figuring they probably haven’t done anything constructive with their lives besides sit on their asses and eating a lot of fast food.

This is amazing, I want one now.

  65. Cool idea, but I hope he’s a professional, and not some average Joe that felt like doing something out of the ordinary one day. It’s a really dangerous thing to do, people die on rollercoasters everyday!

  71. this dude is awesome! i think that the people being mean are just rude! rock on rollercoaster dude!

  72. How can a weight limit of 200 limit a lot of people? Are there that many people over 200 pounds in the US? Geeze…

  73. This is REALLY coool. It just looks scary to ride cuz I didn’t see a harness. But I would probably ride it. :P

  74. Thats just up the road from where I live, if your ever in Indiana driving on US HWY 41 its inbetween vincennce and Terre Heaute

  81. This is really neat and everything…but watch the rider’s head when he/she goes around that loop. Someone is going to get serious whiplash, and soon.

  82. I have actually ridden the Blue Flash, it’s a fun (but wicked) little ride. And, it’s prefectly safe. People do not die on roller coasters everyday, in fact you are much safer on the ride than you were getting to the park!

Last I heard John was working on another coaster, this one is non-looping.
