Bigger really IS better, especially when it comes to toys and games.

Perhaps Julian Morrow said it best in this video about oversized games:

I agree with him that all types of games are even better when super-sized!  Check out these giant toys and games from around the world.

Board games:

Battleship on the ceiling

Scrabble

Monopoly

Life Size Mouse Trap

Life

Sorry

Operation

Chinese Checkers

Chess

Connect Four

Dominos

Bingo

Barrel of Monkeys

Pick Up Sticks

Jacks

Jenga

Magnetic Building Toy

Raquet sports:

Badminton

Ping Pong

Inflatable Fun:

Bowling

Foosball

Basketball

Big Toys with Wheels:

Radio Flyer Wagon

Tractor

Wind-up Cars

Well, these technically aren’t toys, but you can buy keys to make them look like little wind-up cars.

Video Games:

Nintendo Controller Coffee Table

Ginormous Super Ninendo Controller

Giant Pez Dispensers:

Big Monster Toys is a design firm in Chicago that invents toys and games.  Check out the HUGE door at its store!  It may not look very big at first, but notice the regular sized door jus to the right of it.

This guy created a massive kinetic sculpture of Newton’s Cradle called “Click Clack:”

Hope you enjoyed!

  2. The Geek Group built the world’s largest Newton’s Cradle a few years ago. It dwarfs the “clack” demo there. :)

  5. The giant shuttlecock (3rd picture under Badminton) is at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri, USA! The museum itself is the “net” and there are shuttlecocks on either side of it in the huge lawn. It is a very wonderful place if you ever get the chance to go :)

  6. Where did the giant mouse trap games come from?
    That would be fun.
