Yesterday, over 1,000 blondes gathered in Riga, Latvia for the first-ever blonde parade. Women — decked out in pink and white, and some carrying dogs — marched in the charity fund-raising event, which may become an annual affair. The women assembled to bring a positive light to their country, which is in the deepest economic recession in the European Union.

If the event becomes an annual affair, May 31 will officially be known as Blondes’ Day in Latvia.
