Sick of toast? How ’bout turning your toaster into a video game console instead? With just a little wiring, you’ll be playing Donkey Kong before the sun rises. What a great way to start the day!

  1. Ironically, the original model of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) was affectionately called the toaster because of its boxlike shape (and to differentiate it from the updated top-loader design that came out in the early 90s). Even though this is the Super Nintendo, you’ve still effectively taken the nickname literally. I’m thoroughly impressed and if I had any wiring skills I’d try to emulate you and make my own Toastendo or Nintoasto…whatever you wanna call it.

  2. PS…can you eject the cartridge by pressing down on the toasting lever? Cuz that would be a nice added touch.

  3. Of course, what a great site and informative posts, I will add backlink - bookmark this site? Regards, Reader.
