Heavy Loads
Cars are rare commodities in this world. So, bikes are an essential vehicle for transporting heavier items. Of course, in order to do this, people have to get crafty… (more…)
Cheese Wheels Keep Rollin’
Each year on Cooper’s Hill in Gloucester, England, hundreds of people race down a steep grassy hill in pursuit of a large wedge of cheese. If you win the race, you win the cheese, and if you don’t win you get some bad bruises and nasty grass stains. The cheese gets a one second head start and can reach speeds of 70 miles an hour, making it pretty difficult (and painful) to actually catch.
This tradition has been going on for over 200 years, gaining popularity and contestants from all over the world. There are several trial runs and separate men’s and women’s races. But enough history, let’s just see some epic falls.

A New Face for Money
Graphic Designer Richard Smith can think of one way to help the U.S. economy: designing new currency! Smith created the design above and has asked others to submit their designs to the Dollar Redesign Project. Winners will win a t-shirt, and have their entry posted on the Posterous blog. While the prize may be miniscule, it could turn into something more if enough people follow the project and want the U.S. currency to change. Who knows? Maybe Jack Nicholson, Barbie or Superman will be the new face for American currency. Check out some of the entries below to make your decision. (more…)
Becoming a Dragon
I never knew that Carp Streamers were so meaningful. On April 27, there was a Carp Streamer Festival in Kanna, Gunma Prefecture, Japan. The festival is derived from a Chinese folk tale that said a carp becomes a dragon when it successfully swims up a waterfall. To honor this folk tale, people gathered to hang up carp streamers and pray for the health of their sons. So, my only question now is what about the carp-ess?
Dogs: Take Cover!
It amazes me what people will do to avoid a couple of chores. Here’s the latest invention in dog washing. The Dog-O-Matic is essentially a washing machine that you put your dog in. It takes about thirty minutes for a full wash, with prices ranging from $20 to $45, depending on the size of your dog. Just like your laundry machine, you choose the size of the dog, the wash cycle you want, and then you press start. According to French inventor Romain Jarry, the dogs don’t mind. However, this one doesn’t look too happy, and I can’t imagine mine would be either. As of now, there’s only one machine in France, but they plan on expanding to the United Kingdom. So, all those British dogs better start behaving pronto!
Warning: This Post is Full of Warnings
Warning signs usually offer a heads up on a pending threat or danger. You know when you see a yellow sign or a warning label on a product, it’s probably because someone has done that something stupid and hurt themselves. Here are a few examples in action.
Fired? Me? For what?
Everyone makes mistakes at work, but suddenly, hitting “reply all” or forgetting to run spell check doesn’t seem like such a big deal when you see these workplace mistakes.
Sneak a Peak
I know that companies spend big dollars to get people to stop and notice their ads, but this guy took it a little too far.
This guy probably tries to find the end of rainbows too.
